Cab Drivers United/AFSCME LocaL 2500’s Driver Advocate Program Update

Cab Drivers United/AFSCME Local 2500 member Bayo Aladesuru drives a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) and recently received a “blue ticket” after being accused of unsafe driving.

After receiving the ticket, Bayo called Cab Drivers United/ AFSCME Local 2500, said he was a member, and needed help.

A trained Cab Drivers United/AFSCME Local 2500 Driver Advocate met with Bayo to get the details of his case, and help him take his case to a hearing.

In 2015, Bayo was nominated by the Chicago Police Department for his above and beyond service to his wheelchair bound passengers. Prior his hearing, Bayo received a letter from the disability rights agency he works with, praising him for his service to the community.

With the truth on his side, and his union standing behind him, Bayo had his case dismissed!
